Would you believe that many of the people I consult are not able to lose fat because they are stressed!
Stress is a natural physical occurrence to get our body prepared to fight or flight. It is a basic instinct that kicks in when we feel under danger and helps us avoid a bad situation and is necessary for LIFE.
It saves us by helping us run or get out
of the way of danger
Interestingly though, a stress response can be generated in our bodies in a number of ways:Thoughts Situations Feelings
Pain Medications Work
Foods People Events
All of these can generate a stress response in our body.
So what happens in a stress response?

A release in the stress hormones cortisol, adrenaline and noradrenalin, stimulates the body and you experience:
> Released sugar in your blood stream (causes anxiety, a thrill, agitation)
> Your heart rate increases
> Your blood pressure goes up
> Your pupils dilate
These hormones (adrenaline, noradrenaline and cortisol) result in a switching off of non urgent functions which leads to…
> Your bowel slowing down
> Your bladder clamming up
> Digestion slowing down
So for this reason alone, it is best to be relaxed (most of the time) BUT especially when eating.
For some people switching off their stress response, reframing what they stress about and how they handle it, can lead to massive fat loss and improved health in every aspect.
If you would like more information about stress I have a home learning kit with a workbook and webinar explaining it more. (Only $37 for both).
